ROC2026 Conference Annoucement
We have received more than 30 high quality papers for the two-day conference along with excellent sponsorship. All reviewed papers are now compiled into a proceedings document, which will be circulated initially to the conference attendees and later on, placed online for wider circulation, free of charge.
Unfortunately, the registered attendance numbers are unacceptably low which requires us to reorganise this conference to be delivered via a hybrid format. The current weather conditions as well the inability of the mine operators to release their staff to attend the conference, has meant a potentially low turn-out for the face-to-face conference format. Accordingly,
1) The conference will be held both face to face at the University of Queensland on the stated dates as well as via an online zoom link.
2) The authors have the options of presenting their papers physically at the conference venue or via the zoom link
3) Given the potentially low numbers from industry, there will be no sponsorship displays; however, the sponsors have been allocated a ten-minute time-slot for presenting their products at the appropriate time slot in the circulated conference programme.
4) An on-line registration fee of $100 will be charged for those wishing to attend via Zoom. For those who have already paid and still intending to attend in person, current registration will be 50% of the original advertised registration cost. Refunds will be available in the following couple of weeks.
5) While refreshments will be available during tea breaks and also light lunches will be provided, the scheduled conference diner is no longer available.
Resource Operators Conference
ROC2026, the Resource Operators Conference will be hosted on the 5th and 6th of February 2026 by the University of Queensland, St Lucia Campus in Brisbane (Meanjin). Nestled along the Brisbane River, UQ’s St Lucia Campus offers a vibrant and picturesque setting for collaboration and innovation. Attendees will enjoy world-class facilities, heritage-listed sandstone architecture, and lush subtropical gardens. With cutting-edge lecture theatres, dynamic breakout spaces, and easy access to public transport and accommodation, the campus provides an ideal environment for industry engagement, technical exchange, and strategic dialogue. We look forward to welcoming you to Brisbane for two energising days of insight, connection, and operational excellence.
In light of changing emphasis on mineral demands and needs we are receiving papers from coal and non-coal operations from Australia and beyond. You are welcome to provide papers and we look forward to your participation and presentation.
The conference sponsorship and exhibitions is warmly welcomed.
